Fashion Designers should understand that clothes are much than protection from the elements. Clothing can be an artisti expression projections of the image people want the world to see. The main markets you will be designing for are haute couture, desginer ready to wear and high street fashion in Meeras.
The core tasks of the designers are as under:
- Creating/visualizing an idea and marking a sketch by hand or using computer aided design CAD
- Analyzing trends in fabrics, colours and shapes
- Keeping up to date with emerging fashion trends
- Planning and developing ranges
- Working with others in the design team and working within dead lines to develope new products.
- Liasing closely with sales, buying and production teams to ensure the item complements other products.
- Developing a pattern that is then cut and sewn into sample garments
- Supervising selecting and buying Fabrics - Supervising the making up of sample garments- Overseeing production and most important meeting deadlines
- Totally responsible as to production of product in time |
