About The Role

We are looking for PHP Full-stack Developers for one of our UK-based Affiliated pre-booked B2B ground transport agency.

We are the premier choice for pre-booked B2B ground transport - when time is of the essence, customers can use our pre-booked service to book journeys, saving both money and time. As one of the first companies to realize the benefits of using the internet through mobile phones and apps to generate business for the ground transport industry, we are the largest and most successful in our field.

Our system was designed from the ground up in collaboration with minicab drivers, ground transportation companies, and actual business customers booking thousands of journeys using our system each month. With our in-depth understanding and experience of the industry from the inside, combined with our latest technology we are now very proud to boast the most advanced pre-booked ground transport system in the UK.

As a developer, you’ll have the opportunity to drive this platform forward in a number of ways - adding and improving features used by our customers, partners, and operations team, and constantly seeking to improve and modernize our codebases and architecture.  You’ll be able to contribute ideas, and see your ideas in use by thousands of people all over the UK, and make a measurable difference to our platform and our partner businesses.

Required Skills:

• Proven software development skills in an Agile environment.
• Excellent PHP skills.  3+ years of commercial experience, strong object-oriented programming skills, and an understanding of SOLID design principles, MVC, and other design patterns.
• Strong SQL skills, 3+ years of commercial experience.
• 2+ years commercial experience with javascript - jQuery and React (or other modern reactive javascript frameworks)
• Proven CSS/LESS skills 3+ years experience.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience building REST/JSON APIs
• Version control (git)
• Comfortable working with Linux

We would also prefer the applicant to have:

• Proficiency in other programming languages, particularly React Native app development.
• Knowledge of queuing systems (Beanstalk/Redis) and caching systems (Memcached)
• Experience working with and modernizing legacy codebases.
• Experience with Laravel/other modern PHP frameworks.

Applicants will be asked to complete a technical test in their own time. Candidates who successfully complete the task will then be invited to attend a face-to-face interview at our office in Lahore and an online interview with our top Management based in the UK. Successful candidates will be sent to London or Dubai for 1 month for a Visit Visa for the knowledge transfer and handover from existing developers based in the UK/Dubai.
